This 7-inch chef knife is made from quality high-carbon German steel. The blade has a rough textured finish. The handle is NZ Rata and Curly Birch infused with resin. The Rata is from a support post that held up the Nelson Racing Club’s Members Grandstand. The stand was built in 1958 and demolished in 2025. The pins are 4mm brass and the advertised price includes a gift box.
Please note that high-carbon steel retains its edge well and is easy to sharpen, however it will patina upon contact with meat and vegetables and with age. It may rust if left wet and should be cleaned and dried after use. If properly cared for it will last a lifetime. Care instructions are included with the knife.
