Knife Personalisation

Stamped Initials

We stamp a person’s initials on the reverse side of the blade (the right side as you look down on the knife). We can do either 2 or 3 initials using hardened die letter stamps. The stamps are embossed in the blade using a hydraulic press.

The blade is heat-treated after the initials are stamped, which means carbon coats the inside of the initials and when the blade is lightly polished (for kitchen knives), or highly polished (for most outdoor knives), the initials stand out and are carbon-coloured. It is proof that the knife was made specifically for that person and the initials were not added at a later date.

Handle Engraving

Laser engraving does a beautiful job of engraving a knife handle. It is particularly good on wood; however, results are variable on other materials. If you select a knife with a synthetic handle, we cannot guarantee that we can engrave it. The text, or image, will usually turn out much darker than the wood colour.

This blog article discusses engraving in more detail.
